This work is part of an ongoing project exploring the relationship between young arab and Jewish Americans in a post-9/11 nation, and in turn, their relationships with other young Americans. I chose "Song of the Revolution" by Langston Hughes, because its overarching theme was about cooperation in the future among young people regardless of race or background. The song by sleeping at last seemed to express a sentiment that complemented hughes' words: that it was hard for young people to be told by their cultures that they cannot be friends with one another, and they were tired of being estranged; they are ready to cooperate with one another and coexist with, at least tolerance and at most, Appreciation.
