The first half of the choreography starts with a break into two different dances, which is meant to be representative of two people of different cultures experiencing culture shock. When the two cultures come into contact, they are unaware of their similarities, so their differences become magnified and the most important in dialogue. Then there is unison, which is meant to represent the similarities between the cultures; they are hesitant to acknowledge the similarities, because they are still determined to magnify their differences.
